Edison Hour

Saturday, March 27, 2010

Don't forget to celebrate Edison Hour, also known as "Human Achievement Hour," tonight:

Don't forget to crank up the illumination this Saturday at 8:30 p.m., local time. And swap out any Bush Bulbs beforehand or you'll short-change the man in the wattage department.
I almost forgot about that, and if I can, anyone can.

Between turning everything on at home (lights, kitchen appliances, and electronics) I logged into work and started up processes on servers to get them running at full capacity. My total usage came to about 150kVa for about two hours.

Hah! I didn't estimate my usage, but that 300 kWh is about a third of what we use in a month!

Bully for you, assuming that you can justify what you did at work to your employer.
