When I heard about this recently, the first thing that popped into my head was that this was a CYA move on the part of the alarmists in the face of the possibility that the solar cycle minimum, which has been associated with cooler periods in the past, might knock the wheels off their little red wagon.<BR/><BR/>Solar cycles are 11 years long... so they likely cooked up this "10-15 year hiatus" as a stopgap excuse to leave them free to ignore the evidence, to last at least 15 years -- long enough to achieve their goal of expanded government power.<BR/><BR/>Such is the state of politicized science today that this was indeed my *first* thought.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
