And this means there likely will be none of the consequences there need to be.

GusGus Van Hornhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05126749051688217781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8839412.post-62908527457506051762019-03-26T09:11:24.133-06:002019-03-26T09:11:24.133-06:00Steyn has a habit of saying something smart and fo...Steyn has a habit of saying something smart and following it up with something not so well considered. Trump didn’t Tweet his way out of anything. I’m pretty sure the Trump Tweet storms had no effect on the investigation one way or the other. Wily? Trump didn’t even fight back. He waited it out as his party told him too like a good little boy. I’m pretty sure Jeb would have done the same – Maybe not Ted Cruz. He might be made of tougher stuff (I’m not sure) but whatever he is, Donald Trump is no bastion of strength. If he was and truly believes the investigation was illegal, he would have fired Mueller and ordered an investigation into the investigation months (or even years) ago and fiat justitia.

Despite his manifest inadequacies, Trump is the duly elected president. This entire fiasco shows how far we’ve fallen. Steyn is right about that. There should be consequences for the illegal coup. If there aren’t, then we are truly further down the road to serfdom than I thought.

On the good side, my son pointed out that the Trump phenomenon provide an excellent example of a personality cult matched to an equal and opposite anti-personality cult.
SteveDnoreply@blogger.com
