Recent polling shows about a 44-34-11 percent split among those respective candidates, with seven percent undecided.
Sliwa remains a factor in the race. He and Cuomo are splitting the anti-Mamdani vote, making it harder to defeat the lefty Democratic nominee. If there is a beam of sunshine, it's that Mamdami's debate performance hasn't been good, according to a leftist outlet:
Many of Sliwa's voters would back Cuomo if the red-beret clad Guardian Angels founder were not in the race, the poll found.
Cuomo would be the second choice of 32% of voters, compared to 3% for Mamdani, pollsters found.
"Zohran Mamdani's dithering performance in the final mayoral debate pointed up the ongoing problem with his campaign," The New York Daily News Editorial Board wrote. "It's a house of cards built on sound bites and laced with antisemitism. But he stumbles and dodges when asked to venture beyond his surface-level focus on affordability and his four, and only four, narrow planks: child care, buses, rent, and grocery stores. It is not only naïve and maddening, but dangerous for a future mayor and points up how unfit he is for the office."If Cuomo or his surrogates won't focus on Mamdani's antisemitism, perhaps, as fellow Democrats, they can focus on this weakness. And perhaps Mamdani will keep opening his mouth in public ahead of the election on Tuesday.
It doesn't look good, though, and Sliwa will deserve a share of the blame if Mamdani wins.
