Hmmm. It looks like, as good as Cox and Forkum are, they are going to have to take it up a notch now that the Democrats are in power.

Call me crazy, but Nancy Pelosi did a better job of making herself look foolish than they did today!

Between Pelosi and the journalists who pretend to be fooled by her baby parade, I seriously wonder who is worse. It's almost irritating to watch this thing on TV! Is there anyone with half a mind who won't see right through this?
I know politicians will do just about anything for publicity, but THIS! Talk about exploitation of the weak by the strong!

Kidding aside, this kind of thing is pretty much why I almost never watch television news, save the occasional local newscast anymore. The medium of television, being so perceptually-oriented, is especially good at stoking the emotional flames and bad at conveying logical arguments. It is all but tailor-made for such pandering.
And heck, even Fox News pretty much went out during the Terri Schiavo debacle. (And, come to think of it, that was worse, as the push was to make people commit self-sacrifice not even for the alleged sake of children, but for the (brain-)dead.)
