The Committee to Unleash Prosperity -- which is what we need for every man a king -- to come true has done the dirty work for anyone who might be wondering who this Huey Long dude -- who's suddenly all over the place -- is.
After all, J.D. Vance, Trump's de facto successor in the Republican Party, just publicly held him to higher esteem (to put it mildly) than Milton Friedman as indicated by the quote above.
The Committee includes a photo linking to video and transcript of Louisiana's autocratic former governor and senator laying out his socialistic Share Our Wealth plan, with an excerpt beneath.
Here's a sample:

He makes his theft sound noble, and redistribution generous.
This is who Vance admires, and fortunately doesn't have the charisma to match.
I have asked this before and will ask it again of anyone holding out the Republicans as an alternative (let alone a superior one) to the Democrats: What would it take for you to concede that there is no longer a difference?
Vance is as bad on the merits as any Democrat, and worse by virtue of the common, increasingly wrong belief that the Republicans are "better for the economy" than the Democrats -- who are also much worse than they used to be.

JD Vance has been an utter disaster. I read his autobiography, what he wrote in that book is the complete opposite of how he is behaving now. I see him as a coward, second-handed, despicable man. I have had some people tell me his autobiography was faked!! I don't believe that. I believe its true precisely because of his current behavior.
I sensed in his book he wanted to belong no matter what. I liken him to a Peter Keating. I think the one, tiny saving grace is Vance is unpopular. He doesn't seem to be liked by the Repubs/MAGA crowd. I'm hoping he goes the way of Dan Quayle, never to be heard from again. He pops up to spew his hostility towards the founding principles. Then disappears.
The problem is the Democrats are allowing trust fund Communists to infiltrate the party. So their isn't much of a challenge to the Repubs. He allows the MAGA crowd to routinely disrespect his Indian wife and in-laws regularly, and just laughs it off to placate them. He is truly a vile individual. I'm tempted to write a postscript about this man on my blog. I'm still debating it.

I also read the book and was struck at the time by his gratuitous slap at Ayn Rand when he described his future wife as ""would have made an excellent heroine in an Ayn Rand novel, but she had a great sense of humor and an extraordinarily direct way of speaking."
BUT?!
I noted in my Kindle then, "He just lost some respect, here."
He has proceeded to lose all of it since.
This man isn't stupid, -- based on his educational attainments. He is evil -- based on his actions.
